In September 1963, the television show The Fugitive first aired on ABC. It dealt with the ordeal of Dr. Richard Kimble, played by actor David Janssen, who was unlawfully convicted of murder. The show was inspired by the Sheppard case. In 1993, the hit movie The Fugitive, starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, was released.
