What civil rights activist was a successful challenger in two separate cases?

The Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth prevailed in two U.S. Supreme Court cases in 1965 and 1969. Both cases dealt with Birmingham, Alabama, city ordinances that police applied in order to limit Shuttlesworth’s protest activities. Shuttlesworth challenged segregation even in the face of a house bombing, numerous arrests, and other threats. He still campaigns for racial justice as a minister in Cincinnati, Ohio.
