What are the causes of homosexuality?

Not surprisingly, there is considerable controversy over the causes of homosexuality. This is partly because the issue is very complex and partly because of the political implications of the question. There is a fair amount of evidence of a biological basis for homosexuality, at least for some people. Three biological models of homosexuality consider prenatal hormones, brain anatomy, and genetic influences. There is also support for social, psychological, and situational factors that contribute to homosexual feelings or behaviors.
