Electrons and neutrinos are called leptons, meaning a lightweight particle. They don’t participate in the strong interaction, so they don’t interact directly with quarks and gluons. They are, however, involved in the weak interaction through two additional force carrier particles, the W and Z bosons that can interact with quarks.
