What is Shanhaijing?

One tradition has it that this ancient and somewhat fanciful survey of the geography of ancient China, which also contains a significant collection of myths, was composed by the flood hero Yu or his assistant Boyi. It is much more likely to have been written by Zhou Dynasty scholars in the fourth century B.C.E. and finalized by Han scholars in the second century B.C.E.
