Nervous System

Who proposed that the left and right sides of the brain differ in function?

American neuropsychologist and neurobiologist Roger Sperry (1913–1994) conducted the pioneering research on the different functions of the left side and right side of the brain. The left side of the brain controls language, logic, and mathematical abilities. In contrast, the right side of the brain is associated with imagination, spatial perception, artistic and musical abilities, and emotions. Sperry received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1981 for his work.
