A niche can be defined as the natural history of a species, where it lives, what it eats, and so forth. Those constraints in turn have an effect on behavior. For example, lizard species found in deserts from different parts of the world use a very similar behavior to harvest water from the moist air in the early morning. They use the bumps or ridges on their heads as condensing spots and then orient their bodies so that the water rolls toward the snout, where it can be licked off by the tongue.
