What did Saul require from David as a marriage present?

Saul required that David bring him one hundred Philistine foreskins. Saul knew the Philistines would not give up their foreskins without a fight. He hoped David would be killed in the fight. David was not killed, and he gave the foreskins to Saul. After that, Saul saw that God was with David. Accordingly, Saul became relentless in his drive to have David killed. As a result, David ran off into the wilderness with some men who were loyal to him.
