Shirin Neshat (1957–) is an Iranian American photographer and video artist whose photographs frequently explore stereotypes of Muslim women. Her later video work, including Tooba (2002) and Logic of the Birds (2002), explores spiritual themes through Qur’anic symbolism and music.
