What are the two phases of breathing?

Breathing, or ventilation, is the process of moving air into and out of the lungs. The two phases are: 1) inspiration, or inhalation; and 2) expiration, or exhalation. Inspiration is the movement of air into the lungs, while expiration is the movement of air out of the lungs.
