Are both of the lungs identical? |
The lungs are cone-shaped organs in the thoracic cavity. The right lung consists of three lobes (right superior lobe, right middle lobe, and right inferior lobe) while the left lung has only two lobes (left superior lobe and left inferior lobe) and is slightly smaller than the right lung. Although relatively large, each lung weighs only 1 pound (2.2 kilograms).
