He is the author of several books, including Friends of God: Islamic Images of Piety, Commitment, and Servanthood; Islam and Christianity: Theological Themes in Comparative Perspective; and Tales of God’s Friends: Islamic Hagiography in Translation. He lives in St. Louis, Missouri.
